A satellite image shows Idaho’s Craters of the Moon National Monument in winter. Snow covers the ground, but dark, irregularly shaped lobes of lava rock partially show through. A row of small cinder cones is apparent near the top of the image, and some mountains are visible in the upper-left corner.
